We
are very proud to host major diving tournaments regularly during
the year at our Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex.
During 2007 a feature
event was the 37th Annual AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix.
The
event featured many of the world’s best divers for
four days of top level international competition. The AT&T USA
Diving Grand Prix is the sole U.S. leg on the seven-country FINA
(Federation Internationale de Natation) Grand Prix tour.
Approximately 20 countries and more than 100 divers competed.
Among
the divers were 17 who won medals at the FINA World Championships
in Melbourne, Australia, in March. In addition, three U.S. Olympians:
2000 Olympic gold medalist Laura Wilkinson, 2000 and 2004 Olympian
Troy Dumais and 2004 Olympian Cassandra Cardinell
competed.
